Patrick Dauncey

Patrick Dauncey read French at Trinity College, Oxford. He writes fiction and screenplays, and has had work recognised by the BBC Writersroom and BBC ScriptWorks. He has completed three novels and is currently working towards publication of his first.

Patrick has written several screenplays and worked as a script assistant on the recently released WWII film Desperate Journey, directed by Annabel Jankel. Alongside his writing, he teaches French literature to students around the world and runs a successful Substack and Instagram account (@frenchwithpatrick) focused on literature, history, and culture.

He is fluent in French, is learning Spanish, and has a particular interest in languages and cross-cultural exchange. When not writing or teaching, he enjoys skiing and travelling widely, including to lesser-visited regions of the world.
