AK Silver was born and grew up in Birmingham, but set off on a global adventure some years ago and has not yet made it back home. He has lived in China, Uganda, and Croatia, and along the way has variously worked as a journalist, teacher, festival organiser, DJ, quizmaster, and translator of songs for Chinese cartoons. Currently he lives in Zagreb with his wife and youngest son, and a dog called Schnonks. He supports Birmingham City FC, as karmic punishment for sins in a past life.
